How to make a fabric banner
How to make a fabric banner:
Here is a picture of the finished product...
This banner is double sided. One side says "Give Thanks" and the other side says "Happy Fall".
1) Start with several fabrics of your choice. I make all my banners with heavy duty duck cloth. It hangs better, even though it's a little bit pricier. I cut out two or four triangles of each fabric. The triangle is 6 inches wide, and 7 inches at it's height. Best to make a template out of cardboard or something sturdy. Cut out enough of your triangles (two if you are doing double-sided).
2. Sew your triangles together. This will reduce fraying. Or, you can turn the fabric right side in and have the seams on the inside. Then, turn them right side out and iron down the seams.
3. Lay out your sewn triangles and find a good order for them. You can be totally random, or have a specific pattern. It will all depend on how many fabrics you have...
4. Now, grab some bias tape. Extra wide, DOUBLE FOLD works best.
5. Start sewing your bias tape closed at the end, (sew down where the two folds meet). Leave about 12 inches for the tie before you start to add the triangle flags. Then, one by one, insert a triangle, wide side up, in between the bias tape layers. Sew slowly, making sure you are putting all the flags in correctly and in the right order. Let the flags overlap about 1/2 to 1 inch.
6. Next, iron on one side of iron-on interfacing to the fabric you will be using for your fonts. For this banner, I'm using a dark brown. I also ended up using a tan color to outline a few of the letters that wouldn't show up because it was a dark letter against a dark background. Then, peel off one layer of the interfacing. Next, using your Silhouette Cameo, (or other cutting device, or good old fashioned scissors), cut out the letters for your banner. Also, add a leaf or other figure as well.
7. Once you have all your letters cut out, carefully place them on each flag and iron them on. Cut off any loose strings and... voila! YOU Are DONE.

Apothecary Jars, burlap, Magnets & more
I have a few wonderful frames, mainly this size: with the opening 20x 24, so they are large! This is black vinyl on a beautiful hand painted cream/tan textured back of the 13th Article of Faith.
Apothecary Jars!!!! Here are just a few... this year, there will be some in white as well!!!

Here's a 8x10 opening in a gorgeous black frame... Can't decide if I'm going to sell it or keep it. I love this saying!
Burlap frames. This is a 4x6 opening, so relatively small. Perfect on a wall collage or on a little side table to add some shabby chic!
Cream rosette on burlap. This is with an antique white color frame. 4x4 opening.
Another button burlap collage. Fun styles in a 5x7 opening.
My favorite of the burlap buttons. Antique cream colored frame that is around a 4x4 opening with a pop of colored buttons all hand-sewn.
These are fun triple-decker button magnets -- the STRONG magnet kind.
I have several 3x3 magnet sayings that are perfect for you fridge or kids rooms.

This is more like 4 1/2 by 3 -- the Good Moms saying... It says kids. at the end....
